Silver Acres Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (SAARS) is primary funded by any profit obtained through the Silver Tabby Vintage Shop at Ally's Attic in Lawrenceville, GA and off of fundraising and donations. Silver Tabby Vintage (STV) offers MCM and vintage decor, collectables and art.
Silver Acres was created by Jennifer and Quin Miroux. Jennifer's first career is in Veterinary Medicine where she worked large animal, primary care and emergency care. Quin's career has been working for the safety of the community in the private forensic sector. Together they share a passion for keeping our community's homeless animals safe and cared for.
Silver Acres helped with the veterinary care, outside shelter building and feeding of a now safe and successful cat colony of 15 cats in Carrollton, GA. All cats were neutered and spayed, sheltered and up to date on vaccines. Silver acres has successfully cared for and adopted out 1 dog and 1 cat in 2023. Currently Silver Acres cares for
Silver Acres helped with the veterinary care, outside shelter building and feeding of a now safe and successful cat colony of 15 cats in Carrollton, GA. All cats were neutered and spayed, sheltered and up to date on vaccines. Silver acres has successfully cared for and adopted out 1 dog and 1 cat in 2023. Currently Silver Acres cares for 5 cats, 4 dogs and 4 rabbits in care in Stone Mountain, GA. All were abandoned, dumped or from neglect cases.
Costs for care of our residents hit to a total of $7.8902.98 for the year in 2023. This included, routine and emergency medical care, feeding, housing and routine costs of cleaning supplies and grooming supplies. These costs will only increase as we expand and can offer more. It is projected that our 2024 costs will increase by 1/3rd and in 2025 will likely double.
Silver Acres is diligently working on purchasing between 7 and 10 acres of land just outside of Atlanta Metro to expand it's facility. The new facility should be able to house and care for more than 7X (approx 120) what it's current capacity is, and focus on feral and dumped cat populations as well as rabbits. Silver Acres is diligently working on purchasing between 7 and 10 acres of land just outside of Atlanta Metro to expand it's facility. The new facility should be able to house and care for more than 7X (approx 120) what it's current capacity is, and focus on feral and dumped cat populations as well as rabbits. As we have a stronger volunteer program, we will open our new facility to dogs and farm animals in need.
